Serengeti Great Migration Safari
10 Days; 9 Nights

Experience one of the greatest wildlife migrations on the planet while traversing the serengeti plain, visiting Maasai villages along the way.

Day 1: Arrive into Kilimanjaro International Airport

The day you take your flight from your country to destination country of your safari, your arrival might be at night or day depending on the airline you bought your flight ticket coming to Tanzania but we will be there waiting to pick you up at Kilimanjaro International Airport, the nearby landing of northern safari circuit. Arrive at Tanzania's Kilimanjaro Airport and transfer to peaceful hotels or lodges, the oasis within Arusha set up for beautiful landscaped coffee and tea plantations. Arusha is a pure tranquility with spectacular views of Mount Meru. Your guide is waiting for you outside the open door at the airport with a sign of your name or group name arriving or with a company sign. The driver will take you to Arusha or a place reserved for you, dinner and overnight Arusha town or place of your reservation.

Day 2: Arusha to Northern Serengeti National Park

You will be picked up from your hotel in the morning and driven to Serengeti National Park to reside your reservation in northern Serengeti. This will be a long day drive but you will get a chance to explore nature and scenery of the land. On the way to the endless plains you go on your first game drive around Serengeti. Arrive at a lodge reserved for you and start the amazing scenery of Serengeti plains.

Day 3 & 4: Game View in Northern Serengeti National Park

We wake early for a sunrise game drive in the Serengeti at dawn if you wish. This should be discussed with your safari guide the previous night. After breakfast enjoy a full day game drive in this area. Resident wildlife numbers are exceptionally high in this Mara River area, with prides of lion up to 30 strong, however from July to October the area turns into a wildlife paradise. The key feature is the Mara River and it is not uncommon to see the herds cross the Mara River north on one day and then back south a few days later. Please take note – finding a crossing is very difficult and is sometimes a matter of luck. A herd can be seen next to the river and only decide to cross or not cross until a couple of days later.  Northern side of wildebeest migration is situated in the heart of the Migration from June to November with an extraordinary diversity of wildlife. This is a full day to see the Wildebeest migration crossing the Mara River while the crocodiles wait for them in the course of nature survival. These days are devoted to full game drives with many opportunities to get that “perfect shot” with your camera. The Serengeti is one of the most stunning wildlife sanctuaries in the world. The name comes from the Maasai word “siringet” meaning “endless plains”. The wildebeest migration continues moving northwards during July and August, often spreading out across a broad front: some heading through Grumeti Reserve and Ikorongo, others north through the heart of the Serengeti National Park. Lunch at the Lodge and the afternoon will be spent doing game drives in Serengeti plains until late afternoon.

Day 5: Northern Serengeti to Central Serengeti National Park

On this day you will leave after a leisurely breakfast and drive to the Central Serengeti National Park known as Seronera area, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park, featuring the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts wildlife representative of most of the Serengeti’s species. We enjoy a game drive en-route to the reservation lodge or camp. You will arrive in time for lunch and enjoy an afternoon game drive in the Serengeti National Park.

Day 6: Full Game viewing in Central Serengeti National Park

Full day game drives in the Serengeti, home to the greatest concentration of large mammals on earth. Non-migratory species include large prides of lions, solitary leopards, cheetah and graceful impala. The landscape is characterized by vast stretches of open plains, punctuated by kopjes, rock formations that have survived from the Pre-Cambrian period and open woodlands. Lunch at the Lodge and the afternoon will be spent doing game drives in Serengeti plains until late afternoon.

Day 7: Central Serengeti - Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After breakfast, we’ll load the vehicle, carry picnic lunch boxes then drive to Ngorongoro conservation area while having the last time to experience the magic of Serengeti endless plains. This wondrous land will leave a lasting memory of your lifetime. Arrive at Ngorongoro conservation area and overnight at the rim of the crater.

Day 8: Ngorongoro crater game drive.

After breakfast at the lodge or camp drive towards the caldera, ascend over 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater to view wildlife in unbroken caldera. Supported by a year-round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro Crater supports a vast variety of animals, which include herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants. Another big draw to this picturesque conservation area is the dense population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and the ever-elusive leopard, which sometimes requires a trained eye to spot. Sign out of the conservation area then overnight at Karatu.

Day 9: Lake Manyara National Park-Arusha

Early in the morning after breakfast we’ll drive to Lake Manyara National Park. We may do some shopping or stop for lunch before continuing to Lake Manyara. Upon arriving at the escarpment of the Rift Valley, you will stop at the viewpoint of lake Manyara then drive down to the park. Much of the northern part of the park is fed by underground water from the Ngorongoro Highlands and as a result is covered in dense forest vegetation, giving the appearance of a tropical jungle. This forest is an ideal habitat for elephants, bushbuck, blue monkey and huge troops of olive baboons. Some parts are dry bush land attracting zebra, impala and giraffes, while the lakeshore provides another habitat, perfect for flamingos and other shore birds, late afternoon we drive back to Arusha for dinner and overnight.

Day 10: Arusha city tour then fly back home.

After breakfast at the hotel your guide will take you to discover the beauty of Arusha city from Clock tower (the half way between Cairo Egypt to Johannesburg South Africa) and take walking to Maasai Market, proceed to Arusha Declaration monument and museum, central market to learn different African spices, vegetable and fruits, visit Arusha City bus terminal, then later drive to Cultural Heritage Centre for shopping, then return to your hotel for lunch. A dayroom is held to allow you to relax and check out later in the day. A vehicle is on hand to transfer you to Kilimanjaro International airport to connect with your flight back home.
